On November 24, 2023, the Department of Refugee Services (DRS) showed its support for displaced communities by donating sanitary towels. The donation addressed the essential hygiene needs of refugees and was a significant step towards the well-being of people facing displacement.
In collaboration with FRENA Community Based Organization, DRS distributed the sanitary towels at Frena Community Ground in Ongata Rongai. The event made sure that a basic necessity, often taken for granted, reached people in vulnerable situations, and sent a message of empathy and solidarity.
The success of the distribution showed what strategic partnerships between government agencies and community organizations can achieve.
